Leaked! Hyundai Santro BS6 Gets A Price Hike And A New Variant

You’ll be glad to note that the BS6 updates haven’t dented the output figures of the Santro’s 1.1-litre petrol engine

Recently, a leaked RTO document of the upcoming Santro BS6 revealed details such as its power figures. Now, another report has revealed the prices of the updated hatchback. As per this report, the new BS6 Santro will be priced between Rs 4.57 lakh to Rs 6.25 lakh. That’s a premium of around Rs 22,000 to Rs 28,000 depending on the variant. Furthermore, Hyundai has also introduced a new range-topping variant (Asta) with an AMT!

As you can see, the Era Executive, Sportz and Sportz AMT variants now command a premium of Rs 28,000 while the rest of the variants are now cost Rs 22,000 more than before. Meanwhile, the new Asta MT is now priced at Rs 6.25 lakh (all-prices, ex-showroom).

Under the hood is the same 1.1-litre petrol engine that produces 69PS of maximum power and 99Nm of twist. It will come paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The BS6 motor is expected to be offered in the above-mentioned variants as well as their CNG versions. 

The Santro comes equipped with features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reverse camera, rear AC vents, and steering-mounted audio controls. Safety features include a rear parking camera, driver and passenger airbag, front seatbelt pretensioners, and ABS with EBD. 

Expect Hyundai to launch the updated BS6 Santro within a few weeks. Its main rivals include the Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and WagonR.
