Hyundai records highest ever domestic sales

In the last one year, Hyundai has done well to change its product portfolio and in the process set new industry standards. The Hyundai Elite i20 was an instant hit and within 4 months recorded sales of more than 56,000 units. The i20 Acive too managed to tingle the taste buds of crossover enthusiasts and more recently there has been quite a buzz around the Creta as well.

The energies put in by Hyundai seem to have produced an apt result on the sales charts. In the month of August, the Korean car maker has sold 40,505 units in the domestic market and exported 14,103 units, with cumulative sales of 54,608 units. In the same period last year, Hyundai sold 33,750 units in India and exported 14,361 units. Going by the numbers, Hyundai has recorded a growth of 20 per cent in the domestic market. Exports however haven’t been as fruitful.   

Commenting on the August sales Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, "Hyundai recorded highest-ever single month with a volume of 40,505 units and growth of 20% over the last year led by strong youthful product portfolio in which the Global SUV CRETA, Elite i20 and i20 Active had volumes of more than 17,800 units showcasing the customers’ continued aspirational preference for new and exciting models even in these challenging times. Hyundai looks forward to sustain double digit growth above industry growth rate increasing market share in passenger vehicles"
