Kia India has brought back the Carnival in its fourth-gen avatar in India, at a hefty price tag of Rs 63.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium MPV had already made its global debut in its new-gen model a while ago. Although the India-spec model and the one sold globally offer a largely similar package, there are some differences that we will highlight in this report. Check it out.
You will be hard-pressed to find any difference in the design of the Indian Carnival and the one sold globally, as both are nearly identical. Upfront, both feature a large grille that gives it an aggressive stance, complemented by L-shaped DRLs and vertically stacked LED headlights.
However, the silver accents on the front grille differ on the international model depending on the chosen trim. The international-spec Carnival is also offered with two alloy wheel options, 17-inch and 19-inch, each with unique multi-spoke designs, whereas the India-spec model comes only with 18-inch alloys. Another key exterior difference is the colour palette. While the India-spec Carnival is limited to Fusion Black and Glacier White Pearl, the international version is available in a wider range of colours, detailed in the table below.

The India-spec Carnival is available only in the single Limousine Plus variant, featuring a dual-tone brown and black cabin theme, contrasted by silver elements on the dashboard and centre console.
On the other hand, the globally sold Carnival is offered with multiple interior themes depending on the trim, including dual-tone options like black with light brown, navy blue with grey, and brown with black (similar to the India-spec model), available in both fabric and leatherette seat upholstery. Top-spec variants in international markets are also offered with an all-black cabin theme, enhancing its sporty feel.
Feature-list on both the Indian Carnival and international-spec Carnival is same which includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, a 11-inch heads-up display, dual single-pane sunroof, powered front row seats with heating and ventilation function, a three-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, wireless phone charger and connected car tech.
On the safety front, both models come equipped with 8 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, parking sensors all around with 360-degree camera system, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Level-2 ADAS.
The international-spec Carnival is available with multiple engine options depending on the market. These include a 288 PS/353 Nm 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, a 180 PS/265 Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine coupled with a hybrid system, and a 193 PS/441 Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine, which is the sole option offered in India. The India-spec Carnival is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Prices for the 2024 Kia Carnival in the USA start at 36,500 USD (Rs 30.66 lakh), in Canada at 43,273 CAD (Rs 26.87 lakh), while in India, it is priced at Rs 63.9 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, it serves as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Invicto, and a more affordable option compared to the Toyota Vellfire.
