Great Wall Motors has announced the date of its India debut -- February 5. The carmaker will showcase its lineup of 13 cars including Haval SUVs and Ora EVs at its debut event. Now we know that two concept SUVs will also be premiered -- the Haval Vision 2025 and the Haval Concept H. While the former broke cover in April 2019 at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Concept H is set to make its global debut in India.

The two concept SUVs will showcase Haval’s vision of the future. The Vision 2025 is equipped with features such as facial and biometric recognition. It has an augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) which can display information over a larger portion of the windscreen. The outer rear view mirrors have been replaced with cameras that project onto dash-mounted screens.

Its facial and biometric recognition can set multimedia and seating preferences based on cloud database information about the car’s user. Haval says that a remote control bracelet will allow Vision 2025 owners to get their packages and mail delivered directly to the car. A suite of connected car technologies are part of the SUV’s advanced onboard control systems.

The Concept H could be a mid-size concept SUV from the manufacturer. It bears resemblance to the F7 SUV already on sale in China, which would be a mid-sizer in our country. It is 35mm shorter, 11mm wider, and 70mm shorter in height than the MG Hector, and larger in every dimension than the Kia Seltos.

Internationally, the F7 SUV is powered by two turbocharged petrol engines. The 2.0-litre unit makes 190PS and 340Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre unit is good for 150PS and 280Nm. In its production spec, the Concept H could also borrow the MG Hector’s 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with BS6 updates.
If it borrows its tech from the F7, the Concept H would be the only mid-sizer in India with active safety features. The F7 comes with forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. We hope to hear more about the two concept SUVs at the Auto Expo.
