Remember the delectable Aston Martin that Daniel Craig drove into a lake at the climax of the latest James Bond movie, Spectre. Despite it being called the DB11 it was not the chronological and spiritual successor to the DB9 production car, being a show car that was expressly built for the movie. This, the new DB11 is, and it has been leaked ahead of its official unveil at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
These high-quality images come courtesy of CarScoops – who wouldn’t state where they sourced the images from – but they’re sufficiently high quality and have enough detail to be authentic. As with past Astons, the DB11 takes the best elements of its predecessors and improves upon them, without being an outright departure in design terms. Primarily taking inspiration from the DB10 concept, the DB11 also borrows design cues from the DBX crossover, CC110 centenary special, and the One-77. It is also said to be the first cars to be influenced by the company’s partnership with Mercedes-AMG.

The new LED headlights mounted on that huge Aston grille give the DB11’s front end a wide, purposeful stance, while the deep ridges in the bonnet emphasise its muscular look. Around at the back, muscular haunches hint at the GT car's performance while the familiar Aston rear light clusters have been reshaped to enclose each end of the subtle rear spoiler.
The interiors have still managed to escape internet sleuths so far, but it is believed that it will also draw inspiration from Mercedes’ influence in creating the DB11. This includes items like the steering wheel, fully-digital instrument cluster, climate controls and rotary controller for the COMAND infotainment system.

Aston Martin has already revealed that the DB11 will be powered by a brand-new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, which is thought to produce in the region of 600PS, thus putting it somewhere between the DB9 and the Vanquish in terms of outright power. Reports state that the V12 will be accompanied by AMG-sourced V8s.

With the 2016 Geneva Motor Show less than a week away, it wouldn’t be long before we can feast our eyes on the Aston Martin DB11 for real and in the flesh.
