BMW’s X7 Now Gets A New Base Variant For Rs 6.40 Lakh Less Than Before

New base variant now upto Rs 10 lakh cheaper than the xDrive30d DPE Signature variant

 

  • The xDriver30d DPE Signature variant gets a price hike of Rs 4 lakh, whereas the top-spec variant is now more expensive by Rs 8 lakh.
  • The base variant misses out on equipment like LED laser headlamps, five-zone climate control, two 10.2-inch rear-seat entertainment systems, and the 360-degree camera.
  • It retains the same 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbo-diesel as the xDrive30d DPE Signature, producing 256PS and 620Nm.
  • It rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLS in India.

Shortly after BMW India, launched a new base variant for the 3 Series sedan, the carmaker has launched the X7 xDrive30d DPE base variant at a price tag of Rs 92.50 lakh (ex-showroom India). In addition to this, the variants above it have also had their prices hiked. Here’s the revised price list:

The above table reveals that the X7’s new base variant is Rs 10 lakh more affordable than the DPE Signature variant and Rs 14 lakh below the xDrive40i variant. The xDriver30d DPE Signature variant gets a price hike of Rs 4 lakh, whereas the top-spec variant is more expensive by Rs 8 lakh. 

In terms of features, the base  xDrive30d DPE variant gets bits like adaptive LED headlamps, a different set of 21-inch alloy wheels, ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, automatic tailgate, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, a 10-speaker music system, and electrically-adjustable front seats with memory function. Being the base variant, it misses out on equipment like LED laser headlamps, five-zone climate control, two 10.2-inch rear-seat entertainment systems, and a 360-degree camera.

Under the hood, it retains the same 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel powertrain as the xDrive30d DPE Signature variant. It delivers 256PS and 620Nm with a 0-100kmph run in 7 seconds. Transmission duties are carried out by an 8-speed automatic gearbox and BMW’s xDrive four-wheel drive system.

The new variant is offered in three colours - Metallic White, Phytonic Blue, and Arctic Grey Brilliant Effect. It takes on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS in the Indian market.
