DSK-Benelli has had a good run in the Indian market with its high displacement motorcycles. But the Italian two-wheeler brand plans to be more mass market oriented and is planning to launch a new scooter in the Indian market. The Benelli Caffenero 150 scooter has been spotted testing on Indian soil hinting the fact that the above could be launched in the Indian market or at least they are contemplating the same. We wouldn’t be surprised if Benelli rides in the Caffenero 150 in the Indian market as Aprilia will be launching the SR150 scooter in August while Vespa already has 150cc scooter offering on sale. With scooter sales rising with every passing year, there has been a demand for more powerful and niche scooters from consumers to standout from the crowd.

The Benelli Caffenero is a striking looking scooter with edgy lines and front apron mounted twin headlamps. But the standout feature for the scooter has to be the large 16-inch alloy wheels at the front and back which gives it a step-through scooter kind of stance while improving stability and manoeuvrability. The scooter employs a twin pod analogue instrument console with a speedometer and tachometer. The Benelli Caffenero features a tubular frame, 240 mm disc brakes on both ends, 33 mm telescopic front fork and twin preload adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. Powering the Benelli Caffenero is a liquid-cooled 151cc single-cylinder motor delivering 13PS and 13.3Nm of torque. The scooter weighs 130kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 7.4 litres.
