The 2015 Honda CBR 150R has been launched in Indonesia and is almost certainly going to make its way to India early next year to replace the existing model.
The new CBR 150R gets some subtle styling updates including a new fairing inspired from the CBR 300R as well as a new truss frame and pro-link suspension.
The bike now runs a twin headlamp setup. The footpeg design has been changed as well from the current steel pipe setup and the exhaust design is all new as well.
The engine on the new CBR 150R is the same single cylinder, four stroke, liquid-cooled 149.4cc unit. But it now develops marginally less power at 17.1PS (as against 17.8PS on the older model) and maximum torque is now slightly higher at 13Nm at 7,500rpm.
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the new model – called the Sportcity in Indonesia – will save more fuel through the PGM-FI electronic system and achieve Euro III emission standards.
The bike is expected to be launched in India in the first quarter of next year. Expect hot competition in the entry level sportbike segment then, with an upgraded Yamaha R15 expected around the same time as well as the launch of the much awaited Pulsar 200SS.
