Mahindra Thar Roxx 5 Door 4X4 Variants Launched, Check Prices Here!

Today, Mahindra has announced prices of the much awaited Thar Roxx 4X4 variants at Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The most important off-road hardware is offered only with the diesel engine and is available only in limited variants. Without further ado, here’s a look at the variant-wise prices of the Thar Roxx 5 door: 

As you can see in the above table, the four-wheel drive hardware commands a premium of up to Rs 2 lakh over its equivalent two-wheel drive variants. Do note that only the top-end variant offers 4X4 with both the manual and automatic transmission options. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx 4X4: Engine Option Explained 

As mentioned above, the Thar Roxx’s four-wheel drive hardware is only limited to the diesel engine. It is powered by the 2.2-litre diesel engine that develops 152 PS / 330 Nm with the manual transmission and 175 PS / 370 Nm with the automatic transmission. You can have it with either the 6-speed manual transmission or the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. 

Unlike the Thar 3-door, you can’t have the four-wheel drive hardware with the 2-litre turbo-petrol engine. In the Roxx, this engine is offered solely with rear-wheel drive.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Bookings And Delivery Timeline 

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is already on display at dealerships and test drives are set to commence from October 3. Deliveries of the elongated Thar are set to begin on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, which is on October 12. 

With the introduction of the four-wheel drive variants, the Thar Roxx’s prices range from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Force Gurkha 5-door, while being a larger alternative to the Maruti Jimny. The Thar Roxx’s pricing also puts it in contention with compact SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara.
