The Citroen C3 Aircross will be the next vehicle to come from the French carmaker in India. At launch, the C3 Aircross will be offered with only one powertrain: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, teamed with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, if you’re looking for an automatic or an all-electric powertrain in the SUV, fret not, as both these versions will come later too!

It’s worth noting that Citroen offers a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission in the international-spec C3. And we suspect the same transmission may be introduced here with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. Introduction of an automatic transmission in both the C3 and C3 Aircross will make them more appealing for those looking for  convenience.

As for the electric C3 Aircross, its launch timeline is yet to be determined. Citroen introduced the eC3 just six months after the launch of its ICE version. So we suspect something similar to happen with the C3 Aircross as well. As for its specs, it should be better than the eC3, which gets a 57PS e-motor and 29.2kWh battery, good for a claimed range of 320km.

The C3 Aircross comes loaded with features such as a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, remote locking, electronically adjustable ORVMs and a digital driver’s display. Its safety features consist of dual airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Citroen is expected to announce prices of the C3 soon and we suspect it could start around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go up against the Hyundai Creta, 2023 Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara as well as 3-row offerings such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6.
