The program is aimed at providing hands-on experience of the designing and developing an electric vehicle

Ultraviolette has been making big innovative strides in the EV space ever since the Ultraviolette F77’s entry into the market and the recent unveiling of the F99 Factory Racing Program at EICMA 2023. Now the EV maker is also looking to share its learnings with the automotive designers of tomorrow as it has partnered with Mantra Academy, an automotive design institute based out of Bangalore, to develop focused educational programs and mentor design students of the institute. Ultraviolette has said this is part of its “commitment to transforming the future of automotive design in the country through focused partnerships with key design institutes and academia in the country.”

Through this partnership, the students of Mantra Academy will get hands-on exposure to the latest tools and technologies used in the design and development of performance electric two-wheelers. Ultraviolette says that this will also enable the automotive design students to translate their learnings into a real-life model and work in a fast-paced, industry oriented simulation. The students of Mantra Academy will also get to work on Ultraviolette’s projects during the apprenticeship, with the potential of employment post completion of the program also on the cards.

As part of the partnership with Ultraviolette, students from the Mantra Academy unveiled a concept electric motorcycle called the Apex-21. They revealed a design sketch of the electric motorcycle along with a full-size clay model of the concept during the announcement of the project at the Ultraviolette Hangar in Bengaluru. Not much details have been revealed about the concept bike except for the fact it gets a magnetic suspension system, active aerodynamics and adaptive suspension. But, in terms of design, though, the concept bike looks straight out of a Tron: Legacy-esque environment about 50 years from now with the swooping front-end that goes downwards to just about hover above the front tyre.
