The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X have already been unveiled

Triumph has already unveiled its most affordable bikes yet – the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X – and both bikes are slated to be launched on July 5. While they are co-developed by Bajaj, both bikes are based on the Bonneville series and are every bit Triumph.

With a muscular and compact design language, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X sport a classy neo-retro styling. Oh, and they also look pretty premium, like smaller versions of the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 (the Speed 400) and the Scrambler 1200 (Scrambler 400 X).

Powering both the bikes is a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine making 40PS and 37.5Nm. It also features a bunch of rider aids including switchable traction control, ride-by-wire and dual-channel ABS.

The underpinnings are quite premium as well, and you can head to this story for all the details on the same. Wondering how the Speed 400 is different from the Scrambler 400 X? Find out here. Interestingly, the international-spec bikes and India-spec bikes are slightly different, especially in terms of how much they weigh.

Head here to get a closer look at the Speed 400, and you can follow this link to check out the Scrambler 400X up close. The accessories list for both bikes has been revealed too.

The pre-bookings for both bikes have already opened, and the price for the Speed 400 is expected to start at Rs 2.9 lakh, whereas the Scrambler 400 X could get a sticker price of Rs 3.2 lakh. Both prices ex-showroom. Once launched, both bikes will rival the likes of KTM 390 Duke, Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R, Zontes GK350, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Yezdi Scrambler, and the Honda CB350RS.
