As evident, the Punch outsold the second contender, the Creta, and the third contender, the Wagon R, by 1089 units and 1179 units respectively. Notably, the Punch saw a year-on-year growth of 61 percent in sales numbers. However, compared to the previous month, there was a decline of around 4.4 percent from the 18,438 units sold.
The Punch has consistently been a top contender for the best-selling car since the beginning of the year and has been one of the best sellers for Tata. It's worth noting that only one other Tata SUV, the Nexon, made it to the top 10 selling list for March. Overall, SUVs account for fifty percent of the top 10 selling models, indicating the increasing preference for this body style among Indian car buyers.
Additionally, at its price point which starts from Rs 6.13 lakh, the Punch serves as an entry-level option if you are looking to enter the SUV segment.
