Retro-cool Sierra EV Teaser Out! Tata’s Comeback SUV Is Coming Your Way In An Electric Avatar!

Tata Motors is India’s largest EV maker, and the brand has now teased the much-awaited Sierra EV which will plug a major gap in its lineup. Expected to be a game-changer in the segment, the teaser showcases the electric SUV’s updated design and some key changes that have been made compared to the ICE-powered version. 2026 Tata Sierra EV Teased: What The Teaser Shows

About The Tata Sierra EV

Ever since the unveiling of the ICE-powered Sierra last year, fans have been waiting for Tata to reveal the electrified version. The latest teaser gives the best look yet of the upcoming Sierra EV and as the previous details and teasers shown, the Sierra’s front fascia gets full length LED DRLs and a body coloured trim spanning the width of the car housing the Tata logo at the center. The horizontal LED headlamps are placed right below on the upper section of the bumper. Meanwhile, the vertically stacked LED fog lamps are housed on the lower half of the bumper along with a small air dam on the corner to improve aero efficiency. The bottom of the bumper houses a faux silver brushed skid plate for the SUV look.

The side profile of the Sierra EV remains largely unchanged apart from the QWD badging for the all-wheel-drive variants and the new design for the 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear end of the Sierra EV is also almost identical to the ICE version but for the Sierra.EV badging on the tailgate.

Besides the changes spotted above, the teaser shows that the SUV will retain its retro-cool avatar and will be largely similar in design to its ICE counterpart. 

In terms of features, it is expected to feature a three-screen layout with 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system and a passenger entertainment screen. It could also be equipped with dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless chargers, powered and ventilated front seats and a premium audio system.

It is likely to get safety features such as 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, electronic stability control, hill hold control, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and all-wheel disc brakes.

Tata has not confirmed the powertrain details of the Sierra EV, but it could be offered with multiple battery options with up to 500 km of claimed range, while an optional dual-motor AWD setup is also likely to be on cards.

2026 Tata Sierra EV: Launch Date, Expected Price & Rivals

Tata will unveil the Sierra EV on June 30, with a launch expected next month. It is likely to be priced from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sierra EV will compete with electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Vinfast VF7, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.

It will go against the likes of the Mahindra BE 6 which in itself is among the trending EV SUVs in the Indian market. Also, while the ICE Sierra doesn’t get all-wheel-drive, the Sierra EV opens can be a strong proposition for the ones looking for a retro-cool looking electric SUV.
