Tata Motors is all set to launch the highly-awaited Sierra SUV in India on November 25, and also the Sierra EV, which is expected to come not long after the ICE variant. Both will be sold in the compact SUV segment, one which Tata Motors hasn’t been able to tap into properly. It tried with the Curvv and Curvv EV, but the market isn’t quite fond of the SUV-coupe style much.
Here’s all we know about the 2025 Tata Sierra:

The Sierra follows a near-identical design language, which borrows heavily from the original Sierra from the 1990s. In the front, the ICE gets a large blacked-out grille with illuminated Sierra lettering and a full-width LED lightbar.
The headlamps are mounted slightly lower down from the lightbar.

To be very honest, it’s very difficult to find differences in the design of the SUV from the side. It can be seen with the same Yellow colour that was showcased with the Sierra concept at the 2025 Auto Expo, with the only major exception being the new 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

The SUV also features flush-fitting door handles, and as a nod to the OG Sierra, the rear windows will mimic the Alpine windows of the original.
The Sierra gets a triple-screen layout with all of them measuring 12.3 inches. One display will be for the driver, one for the infotainment and one for the passenger. Like all new Tata Motors models, the Sierra will also get the touch-based climate control buttons.

The dashboard feels premium and seems like it will have a leatherette finish. Like the Curvv, Harrier and Safari, the Sierra will also get Tata Motors’ new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. Even the gear shift lever will be shared with other models in the brand’s line-up. At the rear, it will get three adjustable head restraints, rear window blinds and a rear centre armrest.

In addition to the triple-screen setup, the Sierra will also come with a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, dual-zone climate control and multiple drive modes. It is also going to be equipped with a 12-speaker JBL Black sound system with a SonicSound Bar, powered and ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Safety features will include at least six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and more.

The Sierra will debut with Tata Motors’ new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol direct injection (TGDI) engine, which will also make its way to the Harrier and Safari on December 9. Check the table below for the specifications of the new Sierra ICE.

The Sierra will compete with heavyweights like the upcoming Renault Duster that has just been announced, the upcoming 2026 Kia Seltos, the upcoming Nissan Tekton, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara and its sibling, the Tata Curvv.
It is slated for a launch on November 25, and we expect it to be priced between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
All-in-all, the 2025 Tata Sierra has awakened a lot of nostalgia amongst the brand’s loyal followers, which has led to wide interest for the upcoming SUV. Since the Sierra will be competing in the cut-throat Compact SUV segment, it is expected to face quite some heat from the segment toppers.
So, do you think Tata will be able to crack the market? Let us know in the comments!
