Renault has announced its ‘International Game Plan’ where it plans to introduce eight new models out of the European market. Along with that, the French marque has also said it will be working on a new modular platform for four emerging markets: regions: Latin America, North Africa, Türkey and India.

Renault’s new architecture will be dedicated to its future models for the aforementioned developing markets. It will be able to support multiple body styles, ICE and electrified powertrains as well as different drivetrains. To make life easier, we have detailed the technical aspects this platform will support in detailed pointers:
Can support overall vehicle length between four and five metres.
It can accommodate four wheelbase options from 2.6 metres to three metres.
Multiple powertrain options: ICE, flex fuel (up to E100), LPG, mild- and strong-hybrid.
Both front-wheel and all-wheel drivetrains.
In fact, the carmaker already has a few models on the pipeline that will be based on this architecture, which includes the newly unveiled Kardian, Niagara hybrid four-wheel drive pickup truck concept and a B-segment compact SUV.
Renault also says this platform will meet all the latest as well as future regulations of electric and electronic architectures.

Earlier this year, Renault announced it is planning to introduce two new ICE-powered SUVs and an EV later down the road. One of the compact SUVs that’s expected to be destined for our shores is likely to be the third-gen Duster, which is being prepped for a global unveiling on November 29.
