Poll - Tata Nexon: Which One Would You Pick Out Of The 4 Powertrain?

Tata has added another powertrain option to the popular Nexon subcompact SUV. This time it is the factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG kit option, available with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. With this addition to the Nexon moniker, the sub 4-metre SUV is now available with petrol, diesel, electric, and CNG options.

With Tata making this move for its most popular car, a question came to our mind. Which of the Nexon’s powertrain options would people opt for and prefer buying? So, we decided to create a poll on our official instagram handle to see which version of the Nexon would our followers pick. Here are its results: 

A total of 402 people responded to the poll, out of which 145 votes (36 percent) were given to the Nexon diesel, 134 votes (33 percent) to the Nexon petrol, 72 votes (18 percent) casted for the Nexon EV and the Nexon CNG took the last spot with 51 votes (13 percent). 

The voting indicated that even though there are government regulations for the diesel and petrol engines and the focus is shifting towards promoting EVs, the majority of the buyers would still opt for the old-school ICE powertrains.

Tata Nexon: Features

The Tata Nexon comes with many comfort and convenience amenities, as well as safety features. The key features include 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (larger 12.3-ich unit with Nexon EV), ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a wireless phone charger and a JBL-sourced 9-speaker audio system (8 speakers with Nexon CNG).

In terms of safety, the top features include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, rear defogger, a 360-degree camera and 6 airbags.

Prices for the ICE-powered Tata Nexon ranges from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while that of the electric Nexon ranges from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh. The Nexon rivals sub compact SUVs like the Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. The Nexon EV competes with the MG Windsor EV, Mahindra XUV400 and lower-spec variants of the Tata Curvv EV.
