The Tata Nexon CNG is here and has been launched on our shores from Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While it might have been a bit late to the party, the Nexon CNG has managed to arrive with a bang as it debuts plenty of firsts for a CNG car in India across various aspects. Here are 5 such things:
The Tata Nexon CNG is the first car in India to get a turbocharged petrol engine. It uses the standard model’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, but the output drops to 100 PS in the Nexon CNG. Torque output remains unchanged at 170 Nm.

Tata has paired the Nexon CNG’s turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission, which marks yet another first for a CNG. All other CNG cars in India currently have a 5-speed manual gearbox. That being said, we wished Tata offered the AMT transmission with the Nexon CNG, considering the same tech is being offered with the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG.

Now, CNG car customers don’t have to compromise on niceties that the regular versions of the same model gets. And in the case of the Nexon CNG, it’s now available with the panoramic sunroof, a feature which you all love so much.

Amother feel-good feature that’s offered with the Tata Nexon CNG are ventilated front seats. Very useful in hot weather conditions to keep your backs and bums cold.

The Nexon is the first CNG car to be offered with a proper full coloured 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. And it’s one of the best in the business, offering multiple views, customisation options and can even relay navigation while using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
