Soon after introducing the Scorpio N in Australia, Mahindra has launched the XUV700, its current flagship SUV, in the continent. The XUV700 for the Australian market is offered only in its top-spec AX7 and AX7 L trims and can be had with just the turbo-petrol engine with the automatic transmission.
Here’s a quick look at the variant-wise pricing of the XUV700 in Australia:
Variants |
Australia Price |
India Ex-showroom Price |
XUV700 AX7 |
$36,990 (Rs 20.74 lakh) |
Rs 22.37 lakh |
XUV700 AX7 L |
$39,990 (Rs 22.43 lakh) |
Rs 24.34 lakh |

It’s surprising to note that the XUV700’s pricing in Australia is much lower than the model sold in India. But do note that these Australian prices are before taxes and other add-ons, so the final sticker price could climb up before you take delivery.
The XUV700 sold in Australia gets almost zilch changes when pitched against the model sold on our shores. So it gets the same exterior styling, upmarket interior and a lengthy features list as seen in the model sold here. To take a closer look at the Mahindra XUV700, check out our in-depth image gallery.
Highlights of its features list include dual 10.25-inch screens comprising the digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker Sony 3D sound system, powered driver’s seat and a wireless phone charger.

On our shores, you also get the option of a 2.2-litre diesel engine in two tunes, a manual transmission and even all-wheel drive.
The Mahindra XUV700’s primary rivals on our shores include the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
