Customer deliveries of the Mahindra XUV700 diesel have begun from November 11, which is way ahead of its original timeline of November last week. The reason behind this is that Mahindra has already produced a handful of XUV700 diesels ahead of schedule and has decided to not keep its customers waiting.
The XUV700 diesel gets a 185PS 2.2-litre diesel engine, paired with a 6-speed manual and optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. As standard, this engine drives its front wheels while the AX7 automatic can be teamed with optional all-wheel drive. There is a 200PS 2-litre turbo-petrol engine on offer, whose deliveries commenced from October 30.
The XUV700 is offered in four broad trims: MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7. The last one can be teamed with an optional Luxury Pack, which gets features like a 360-degree camera, Sony 3D surround sound system, electronic parking brake, blind spot monitoring, and a wireless phone charger.

Other standard creature comforts include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sony 3D surround sound system, powered driver’s seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, and panoramic sunroof.

Passenger safety is taken care of by up to seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control. The midsize SUV also gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, high beam assist, and forward collision avoidance assistance.
The XUV700 is currently priced from Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Hyundai Creta/Alcazar, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Tata Harrier/Safari, and the MG Astor/Hector/Hector Plus.
