It promises to be equally good off-road, with a more rugged suspension setup and new Rally driving mode

  • Twin-turbo V8 engine gets a slight bump in power at 666PS.

  • Steel spring and damper setup replace standard air suspension.

  • Sporty front and rear fascias get functional aerodynamics.

  • 0-100kmph time of 3.3 seconds and top speed of 305kmph.

Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus Performante as the new hardcore variant of the SUV. It’s one of the quickest and fastest super-SUVs out there, with a 10 minute, 32 second run at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in the US – a record for production SUVs.

How fast is the new Lamborghini Urus Performante?

The Urus Performante is powered by a 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that gets a slight increase in output and now makes an ominous 666PS and 850Nm. That’s only 26PS more than the standard Urus, but it’s enough to shave 0.3 seconds off the super-SUV’s 0-100kmph time, since the Performante is 47kg lighter than stock. At 3.3 seconds, the Urus Performante is as quick to get to 100kmph as the Huracan EVO RWD!

But the Urus Performante is no dainty supercar – it’s a four-wheel drive super-SUV with steel springs and dampers all around for a more rugged suspension setup than the standard SUV’s air suspension. The stiffer springs, wider stance and lower ride height help you exploit the Urus’s immense power both off and on the road.

On the outside, the Urus Performante looks fierce and sinister with its longer nose, gaping front grille and air dams and bonnet scoops. It gets gloss black side cladding, a black roof and dual-tone, black and body coloured bonnet. The latter two contrast elements are made from carbon fibre, as part of the weight reduction process.

At the rear, the SUV features an Aventador SVJ-inspired roof spoiler to increase downforce over the rear axle. It gets revisions to the rear bumper as well for improved aerodynamics.
