Interestingly, the bike’s been built around the popular Hero Impulse platform

SR Motos, a Kolkata-based EV startup specialising in electric off-road motorcycles, is working on a full-fledged electric motocross bike. And before you doubt their caliber, let us tell you that the company already has eight e-bikes in its portfolio.

This one, though, dubbed the Project SR 13, aims to be the company’s flagship product. From what we know, the chassis and suspension is borrowed from a Hero Impulse while the bodywork comes from the Honda CRF150.

Coming to the motor, the company hasn’t released the full specifications yet. Instead, to give us an idea, it has posted a 100m drag race between the SR 13 and the KTM 390 Adventure. And to our astonishment, the SR 13 keeps up with the 43PS petrol-powered ADV.

To add to this, SR Motors has also posted many videos of the SR 13 undergoing extensive off-road testing, which again gives an idea of its capabilities. More details are expected to follow soon, so stay tuned to ZigWheels.

Since the SR 13 electric bike is still in its testing phase, it’s still some time away from going on sale. But whenever it does, we’re certain it’ll serve as a potent, environment-friendly alternative to ICE motocross bikes.
