Quick Highlights:
Honda has patented the NPF 125 in India
It is based on the Activa 125 but makes more power
Unlikely to launch in India anytime soon
Honda has patented the NPF 125 in India. The scooter is based on the Activa 125 but gets a much sportier design and makes more power.

The design of the NPF 125 looks quite different compared to the Activa 125 it is based upon. It gets sharp angular body panels which are dominated by dual LED headlights upfront. It gets turn indicators mounted on the side panels and a chunky-angular tail section to accentuate the sporty look.
The Honda NPF 125 is powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 9.5PS and 10Nm. The power figures are quite different when compared to the Activa 125 as it makes 1.2PS more but 0.5Nm less. This might be due to the stringent emission norms which are applicable in India than the other Asian countries where the scooter is currently on sale. The underpinnings are the same as well and it gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The scooter has a 12-inch front and a 10-inch rear alloy wheel setup. Braking is handled by a disc at the front and a drum at the rear.

In terms of features, the NFP 125 offers quite a lot of things over the Activa 125 with a major addition being that of single-channel ABS. Other features include LED headlight and tail light, keyless ignition, LCD instrument cluster and a USB charging port.
While Honda has patented the scooter in India, it is unlikely to launch in India anytime soon as they have the Dio 125 which shares the same platform as the Activa 125. If the scooter does come in India, it will command a premium over the Activa 125 which is priced from Rs 95,140 up to Rs 99,146 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, it will go against the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the Hero Xoom 125 in India.
