Harley-Davidson India has announced that it will be launching its newly unveiled Nightster in our market. The iconic American brand's new product could grace our shores as early as this month.
The Harley-Davidson Nightster is the Milwaukee-based bikemaker’s newest and lightest cruiser flaunting an all-new Revolution Max 975T powertrain. It uses a 975cc liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin engine belting out 90PS at 7500rpm and 95Nm at 5750rpm. This is one of the most advanced engines from Harley, and even flaunts tech like variable valve timing.
The bar and shield logo brand has developed a chassis that uses the engine as a stressed member. It has even repositioned the fuel tank and placed it under the seat for better mass centralisation while the traditional ‘fuel tank’ is actually a cover for the airbox.

The Harley Nightster uses a 41mm Showa USD fork and twin shock setup, while the braking duties have been entrusted to a 320mm disc up front and a 260mm disc at the rear. This bike runs on a 19/16-inch alloy wheel setup and has an alarmingly small ground clearance of 110mm!
Harley-Davidson is likely to price its newest cruiser around Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Though the Nightster doesn’t have a direct rival in our market yet, its closest competition will be the Triumph Bonneville Bobber which is priced at Rs 12.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
