Volkswagen has commenced production of the facelifted Tiguan in India ahead of its introduction on December 7. The premium SUV gets cosmetic updates, new features, and it will be a petrol-only offering.
Let’s start with the design. The headlamps are now more angular, in keeping with the latest VWs. Then there is the restyled bumper that lends the SUV a sportier demeanor. Other notable styling updates include new 18-inch alloy wheels and revised LED tail lamps.

Inside, the Tiguan gets a new steering wheel (similar to VW’s ID electric cars), digital driver’s display, and touch-based climate control (replacing the knobs). It also comes with 30-colour ambient lighting, which adds to the premium appeal of the cabin. To know more about the features on offer, read our detailed report.
The Tiguan trades its 2-litre diesel engine for a 190PS 2-litre turbo-petrol mill. It drives all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The facelifted VW Tiguan is expected to be priced from Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, pitting it against the Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Compass.
