Honda Cars India has confirmed that the Elevate is slated to make its global debut on our shores on June 06. The Elevate will be the carmaker’s first brand new model for India in a long long time, slotting in the heavily populated compact SUV segment alongside stalwarts like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Volkswagen Taigun.
The teaser also gives us a minor insight of what all to expect. For starters, the Elevate will make do with a single-pane sunroof instead of the panoramic unit most of its rivals get. A closer look at the front end reveals the presence of a chrome strip (a la most Honda cars in India) that connects both the DRLs. And at the rear, it gets connected tail lamps, as hinted by an earlier teaser.

The Elevate’s interior is yet to be snapped or teased. But since this model will slot in a segment where features matter a lot, you can expect it to be loaded to the gills. We suspect it will get a large touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control and even ventilated front seats.
On the safety front, it should get multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, electronic stability control and ADAS features.
Honda not continuing with diesel engines means the Elevate won’t be offered with one. Rather, you can expect it to feature the 121PS 1.5-litre petrol and 126PS 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain options from the City. The petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual transmission while both the units get a CVT.
The Honda Elevate is expected to go on sale soon after its global debut and we suspect prices to start at around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). In fact, if you had your eyes on one, select dealers are already taking unofficial bookings for the compact SUV.
