Special edition cars with a dark theme have become quite popular, giving vehicles more dominance on the roads. The Honda Elevate and Hyundai Creta are two compact SUVs from Japanese and Korean automakers, respectively and what’s also common between them are special dark-themed editions. While Hyundai calls it the Creta Knight, Honda’s SUV takes on the look as the Elevate Signature Black Edition. In this report, we’ll take a closer look at both dark avatars to decipher the differences between them.
The Honda Elevate Signature Black Edition, as the name suggests is all blacked out. The entire body is painted in a deep Crystal Black Pearl shade, giving it a bold and menacing look. The usually found chrome elements are either toned down or blacked out. The alloy wheels also get a dark finish to match the overall theme and make it look stealthy.

The Hyundai Creta Knight takes a slightly different approach with an all-black exterior but red accents to the brake callipers, front grille, and stitching inside the cabin. The alloy wheels and Hyundai logo also get a dark finish, making it look more sporty rather than sinister.

The cabin inside the Honda Elevate Signature Black follows an all-black theme with leatherette upholstery and premium soft-touch materials. It comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless charger, and a single-pane sunroof.

On the other hand, the Creta’s cabin also gets an all-black theme, but with brass contrast stitching on the seats and steering wheel, giving it a sportier feel. It comes with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and an electronic parking brake.

The Creta Knight Edition has a slight edge in features, thanks to the panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats, which the Elevate lacks. However, if you prefer a clean and premium blacked-out cabin without flashy accents, the Elevate Signature Black Edition might appeal more.

Beyond rivalling each other, the Honda Elevate and Hyundai Creta share a mutual rivalry with the Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Citroen Basalt Aircross and MG Astor.
Both the Honda Elevate and Hyundai Creta in their dark avatars make up for great choices to be considered. Do note that the Honda Elevate Signature Black is only offered on its top-spec ZX variant while the Hyundai Creta Knight edition is based on the mid-spec S(O) and SX(O) trim. If you’re looking for an affordable black-themed SUV, the Honda Elevate Signature Black Edition is more affordable. However, the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition justifies its premium with extra features and a more powerful turbo option.
