Aprilia Unveils the SXR GT 125 and SXR GT 175: Launch Soon

Aprilia has unveiled the SXR GT 175 and the SXR GT 125 in India. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming maxi-scooters. 

Aprilia SXR GT 175

The Aprilia SXR GT 175 gets aggressive styling and a sharp fascia. It gets a tall-ish windscreen which goes well with the overall design of the maxi scooter. It gets a triple-pod LED headlamp, which looks like it has taken design cues from the Aprilia sportbikes. 

The SXR GT 175 comes in 3 shades: Metallic Blue, Matte Black and Matte Green. 

It features a 5-inch TFT console, which enables connectivity features such as Bluetooth connectivity, music controls, call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. 

Powering the scooter is a 174.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which produces 13.3 PS and 14.14 Nm. 

The scooter rolls on 14-inch wheels on both ends. Braking duties are taken care of by a 220 mm disc at the front, and the rear is taken care of by a 140 mm. The maxi-scooter is suspended on a telescopic fork and the rear gets a side-mounted shock. 

Aprilia SXR GT 125

The smaller sibling in the SXR GT lineup gets the same design, underpinnings and braking as its bigger brother, the SXR GT 175. It comes in 3 striking shades: Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro and Glossy White.

The SXR GT 125 is powered by a 124.45 cc air-cooled engine which produces 10.6 PS and 10.4 Nm. 

Featurewise, the SXR GT 125 gets a 5-inch LED console and misses out on the TFT display. Aprilia has not revealed the feature list of the scooter, but we can expect the scooter to host more or less the same features as the SXR GT 175.

Rivals, Pricing & Launch Timelines 

Once launched, the Aprilia SXR GT 125 hp-e will rival the Suzuki Burgman Street. Meanwhile, the Aprilia SXR GT 175 will rival Hero Xoom 160. 

Both the scooters are expected to be launched in coming weeks. Aprilia hasn’t revealed the prices of the scooters yet but we can expect the scooters to be priced at a ballpark of Rs 1.23 lakh and Rs 1.30 lakh for the Aprilia SXR GT 125 and Aprilia SXR GT 175, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.
