The indigenous carmaker’s electric lineup will be familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time

Carmakers have been gearing up for the Auto Expo 2023, and so have we. But before the antics for the new event unfold, Tata has teased its electric lineup for the last time (probably). Thanks to the teaser, we now have confirmation for the majority of the models’ showcasing. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for us at the grand event:

Harrier and Safari EV

Tata’s electric mobility social media handle revealed two SUV silhouettes with undoubted similarities to the Harrier and Safari. This means the electric avatars of the two will make a debut at the show; although, we expect them to be near production versions and not the final model. Plus, both the EVs should be based on the facelifted model, which is set to debut at the expo as well.

Avinya concept

The Avinya is the vanguard for future electric Tatas. The concept serves as a base for future models both in terms of features and powertrain specifications. It created a great buzz when it was first showcased in 2022, and the upcoming Expo will probably spawn an evolved version of the EV. It will also be showcased to the general public for the first time. While this hasn’t been confirmed, the Curvv concept could also be on display.

Tiago EV

It hasn't been a long time since Tata’s smallest EV in the country was launched and it has now been confirmed for a showcase at the carmaker’s Expo stand. While the post doesn’t reveal that it’s the Tiago EV, the shape of the headlight and silhouette point toward the hatchback. If you somehow can’t make it to the Expo, the EV is on display at dealerships, and you can test drive it for yourself as well.

These confirmed electric models apart, we believe the Punch EV and a surprise EV concept could be on display as well, more deets of which, including other possible ICE-powered models to be showcased, can be found here. So, even though the upcoming models are very familiar, they will be carrying a new heart and even some fresh styling bits, which might make them a bit unfamiliar at the same time. Nonetheless, we are eagerly looking forward to Tata’s showcase.
