UPDATE: Tata Motors has launched the Curvv EV in India from Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The anticipation has been high, the wait has been long, and the spy shots have been tempting. But the saga of the Tata Curvv EV’s launch will finally have an end chapter as the electric SUV coupe is all set to launch tomorrow. Prices will be revealed alongside the debut of the ICE-powered Curvv. Bookings for both are already open at select dealerships and here’s what you need to know about it:
The Tata Curvv EV boasts a SUV-coupe body style with its sloping roofline. It’ll be a unique proposition in the compact SUV space with its styling and modern elements. The latter includes generous use of LED DRLs and headlights up front, and even connected LED taillights. The connected lighting elements at the front and rear get the welcome and goodbye animation, which looks cool whenever you lock/unlock the vehicle.
While the sloping roofline is the highlight in profile, the aerodynamic alloys and the flush door handles aren’t too far behind in garnering attention. Piano black elements make up the wheel arches, which also extend towards the side sill, infusing some ruggedness in the design.
The sloping roofline meets its end with the rear windscreen which flows neatly into the tailgate. For some sporty feels, there’s a shark fin antenna and a small roof-mounted twin spoiler just below it. The bumper and body are clearly segregated by the piano black element for the former, which also sports a Silver finish for the skid plate at the bottom.
While Tata hasn’t fully revealed the images for the Curvv EV’s cabin, we have enough evidence from spy shots and teasers to point that it’ll be very similar to existing Tata SUVs. The dashboard styling has been carried over from the Nexon with a few tweaks here and there, while the steering has been picked up from the Harrier and Safari. But the cabin theme is slightly different to that of the Nexon.

It gets a dual tone theme which also incorporates a thin ambient light strip running across the dashboard and into the door pads. But the touch sensitive panel for the AC controls is going to be identical.
While Tata hasn’t put out an official confirmation, we know the Curvv EV will be a heavily feature loaded offering, thanks to the teaser campaign. Confirmed features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, single-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, drive modes (Eco, City and Sport) and a wireless phone charger.
We also expect Tata to offer ventilated seats, vehicle-to-load (V2L), and a JBL sound system. Its safety kit is expected to include six airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control and ADAS.
The powertrain details for the Curvv EV are still scarce. All we know is that it is based on Tata's new Acti.ev platform, which also underpins the Punch EV.
The Curvv EV is expected to have multiple battery options (Standard and Long Range), depending on the variant, which could offer a claimed range of around the 500 km mark.
Tata could price the Curvv EV from around the Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which would make it a direct rival to the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 as well as upcoming models such as the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.
