MG has introduced a new EV on our shores, the Windsor EV. It is the brand’s third electric vehicle in India after the ZS EV and Comet EV. The Windsor EV is unlike other electric vehicles in India in terms of exterior styling. It offers some segment-first features to set it apart from its rivals. It is available in three different variants: Excite, Exclusive and Essence. In this article, we will be taking you through the features which you get with each of these variants:
Here’s what you’ll get if you opt for the base-spec variant:
LED Projector headlamps
LED DRLs
17-inch steel wheel with cover
Flush door handles
Fabric seats
60:40 Rear Split Seat
Rear AC vents
10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Steering mounted audio controls
Type A and type C USB chargers and 12V power outlet

In addition to the above-mentioned features available with the Excite variant, the Exclusive variant further comes with:

While the base-spec variant comes with all the essentials, the mid-spec variant brings in some of the premium features. The top-spec variant only adds four features on paper, but they are niceties that uplift the cabin and make the experience feel more upmarket.
The MG Windsor EV is priced aggressively, starting from Rs 9.9 lakh (ex-showroom). However, there’s a catch here and the price mentioned above doesn’t include the price of the battery. Rather, you will have to pay for the battery usage at Rs 3.5 per km and this means that you are essentially renting the battery. At the price it's offered at, it is a larger alternative to the Tata Punch EV and it rivals the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
