Every Team India Medalist In Paris 2024 Olympics To Get New MG Windsor EV As Gift: Sajjan Jindal

Sajjal Jindal, JSW Group Chairman, has announced on social media that every Team India medalist in the Paris Olympics 2024 will be gifted a brand new MG Windsor EV. The news comes after Morris Garages has announced that its upcoming electric crossover, slated for debut in the coming weeks, will be called the Windsor EV on our shores. 

At the time of writing this article, Team India has already secured three medals in the 2024 Paris Olympics and we hope more would follow as athletes are still in contention. And Team ZigWheels would like to congratulate the following winners for their well fought sportsmanship and spirit:

MG Windsor EV: Overview 

The MG Windsor EV is an upcoming electric crossover, which is basically the rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV sold in international markets. It will slot between the MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV in the carmaker’s portfolio in India. The crossover comes with a minimalist exterior design and a minimalist interior. MG Windsor EV: Features Onboard 

In terms of features, the Windsor EV, internationally, comes with an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting and a wireless phone charger. Additionally, the India-spec model will get a panoramic sunroof as well. 

In terms of safety, the Indonesian car gets electronic stability control, four airbags (likely to be six for India), a 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring system. It could also get a few ADAS features for the Indian market. 

MG Windsor EV: Powertrain Options

Technical specifications of the India-spec MG Windsor EV are yet to be divulged. In Indonesia, the crossover gets a 136 PS e-motor that draws power from a 50.6 kWH battery pack. This setup delivers a China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) claimed range of 460 km. In other international markets, there is an option of a smaller 37.9 kWh battery with a claimed range of 360 km. 

MG Windsor EV: Expected Price And Rivals 

One can expect the upcoming MG Windsor EV to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400 as well as some variants of the upcoming Tata Curvv EV.
