MG Motor India has introduced its latest model, the Windsor EV, at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The crossover is the third electric vehicle from the carmaker after the ZS EV and Comet EV. It comes packing an unique design, minimalist interior, plentiful features and a decent claimed range. If you had your eyes on one, this report is for you to give a detailed rundown of the electric crossover in our in-depth image gallery.
Up front, the Windsor EV gets a rather minimalistic design with a full width LED light bar. Right below it are a pair of oval shaped LED headlights, below which you get a large airdam with a chrome skid plate. Do note the presence of the ADAS module, but the Windsor EV doesn’t get this feature for India.
The silhouette of the Windsor EV looks unique with its rather sleek and free flowing design. Adding to the minimalistic look are the flush fitting door handles. Keen eyed viewers will also notice the presence of the charging port on the front fender.

The Windsor EV sits on 18-inch dual-tone alloys that look premium.
At the rear, the MG Windsor EV’s design is similar to the front with connected LED tail lamps. The bumper design is also minimalistic with a gloss black skid plate.
The minimalist theme carries forward to the interior, where the electric crossover gets a rather clean dashboard design finished in black with plentiful copper contrasting touches. The standout bit is of course the large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is the largest in its segment.
A big thumbs up from us! The MG Windsor EV gets dedicated physical controls for the climate control. But, on the other hand, you need to access basic functions such as switching on the headlights via the touchscreen, which just makes it a bit complicated.
The cabin is practical with plenty of storage spaces to store your knick knacks and water bottle. You can also notice the provision for the wireless phone charger in the lower central console and behind it is a foldable armrest with a large storage capacity underneath it.
Clearly, this car is aimed at chauffeur driven owners. The rear seats can recline up to a whopping 135 degrees for added comfort. Also, the long 2700 mm wheelbase means you have plenty of room to stretch out.
Another highlight of the MG Windsor EV is its massive panoramic glass roof, which lets in a lot of light and makes the cabin feel airy. Do note that you can’t open this, unlike a traditional sunroof.
The MG Windsor EV’s boot, at 604 litres, is massive! Perfect for doing airport runs or if you’re a heavy packer for a road trip.
Other notable features onboard the MG Windsor EV include powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting, cruise control and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system. Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with 360-degree camera and electronic stability control.
The MG Windsor EV gets a 38 kWh battery pack that sends power to a 136 PS / 200 Nm e-motor. This setup helps it deliver a claimed range of 331 km. Do note that the MG Windsor EV’s battery pack cost isn’t included in the vehicle’s cost and you would have to pay separately for its usage. More details can be found in this detailed report.
The MG Windsor EV is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level Excite variant. MG is yet to reveal prices for the higher-end Exclusive and Essence trims. At this price point, the MG Windsor EV is a larger alternative to the Tata Punch EV. But its features and specifications are on par with the Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Nexon EV.
