The sexy and gorgeous Mercedes SLC soft-top retails in the Indian market at a price of Rs
82.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The highlight of Mercedes SLC includes long stooping
bonnet, angular headlamps, chunky alloy wheels, and short overhangs in the rear. Interiors
are befitting of a Mercedes and the use of inlays, leather, and carbon fibre come together to
form a very desirable cabin. Under the Hood, the Mercedes SLC comes powered by a 3.0-
liter V6 turbocharged petrol engine dishing out a maximum power of 367 bhp along with 520
Newton-metre of max torque. The engine is coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission,
sending the power to the front wheels of the car. The gearbox can also be operated by paddle
shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. In the Indian market, the Mercedes Benz SLC is
competing against the likes of BMW Z4, Ford Mustang, and Audi TT among others.
No more 5.5-litre AMG V8, low on power than before
The Mercedes SLK was one of the most recognisable names in the two seater roadster business now hopefully it will be SLC. The engine has been downsized from a 5.5-litre V8 to a biturbo V6 which makes the car lighter and more maneuverable. The power however is down to 367PS from 421PS and we will miss the glorious V8 soundtrack s well.
