Q. I want to ask which is the best bike for daily 60km ride daily? Confused between a Thunderbird and Avenger 220. The issue is I found a lot of vibrations in Tthunderbird any other suggestion is welcome.

I own a Avenger 220 Cruise. Must tell you the ride is really comfortable and no vibrations or difficulty in traffic. Can easily maneuver in traffic. Two things I don\'t like is the long wheelbase makes turn radius more, which becomes difficult while taking you turns or changing to the opposite lane. Second is pick up is average for a 220 cc engine. Rest: Low Maintainence Cost, Spare parts availability, Bajaj Service Center Availability , Pretty Good Mileage of around 25-30 Kmpl and The Best Is You can go on Long Drive in comfort, No Back Pain, Less Vibration, Less Fuel Stops and the best Cruising at 80kmpl comfortable and enjoy the Ride. Now my friend also has a Thunderbird. Same as known problems, Vibrations, Mileage Problem, High Service Charge, comparatively less service center availability and the biggest concern is the spare parts cost. Average Pick Up. Which means you\'ll struggle overtaking. Thunderbird although gives you a very much comfortable ride except for the vibrations. For daily commute, I wouldn\'t Suggest a Thunderbird. For a daily commute of 60km, you can go for Avenger 220 Street or Cruise. Other options would be NS 200 or Yamaha FZ or New Gixxer is also good I guess.

Q. Which bike is the best for long rides?

As per my opinion , RE bikes are good in order of their quality and riding comfort. I recent drove my RE TB 350 for 300 KM long drive to Trichy and back to Bangalore . After riding around 150 KMs , my left shoulder started hurting me and due to this , I couldn’t turn my head to right , if turn so , my shoulder hurts more than normal .So I have decided from then . Not to go long ride which is more than 150KMs. It remain hurts for few days after the ride finished . It’s my opinion . It may be due to my height . I am 6 ft tall .

All cruiser type bikes are good for long rides. its rifing position is comfortable, is one of the main reason. if you're comfortable with all kind of riding position, you can choose a bike according to your taste & need , ofcourse the budget ..

Check for tubeless tyre Vehicle first,R.E bikes exhibit a heat a lot, since they don't have any oil cooling techniques.actually if you are a rider means go for. Himalayan or else you can consider Bajaj Dominar

Q. I like Thunderbird 350 and have also taken a test of Jawa 42. A bit confused after taking the test drive of Jawa42. It is also a smooth and powerful bike. Technically advanced also. which one to buy considering technical features, durability, mileage and maintenance? Please advise. Jawa's handling is also great. Runs smooth and looks better. But please give an expert opinion on what to buy.

I've got a TBTS350 and have taken rides of Jawa 42 as well. performance wise, both are almost same just Jawa is a bit more refined and smoother. suspensions are great on Jawa. when you buy such bikes, most important part is the Maintainance, with Thunderbird an experience of 7+ years after 5 years it started giving me pain in Ass as had to spend a lot every time it goes for service. but that's due to my handling as well, I hardly use it. so whenever I plan to use it it give me a big hole in my pocket. On the other hand I am not sure about Jawa. and to be honest being 5'10" TB is more comfortable specially for long rides. it's a complex comparison to do, both engines are powerful unless you are very critical about every nm it generates. Both are of different segments one is kind of a touring bike and the other one is styling. If you want me to select one, I would select TB due to its very comfortable ride position. The new models xtreme are very juicy as well.

Thats what happend in my casse, I am 6.3 tall and heavy, ordered jawa and waited for a 4 months and later realised regarding long rides it will be a hell for my height and the seat length of both Jawa 42 & classic was a bit small so if you are near or above 5.8 its better go to RE classic or what ever bike you like if much more above than 6ft its RE ThunderBird is a preferable choice. at the same time jawa has its pros & cons similarly RE as we all know about the vibrations in RE at higher speeds and Rusting & Pain quality in Jawa. So go by your requirement and the bike which suits you more.

Q. I want to buy Cruiser bike but I am confused between Thunderbird and Avenger, which one should I buy

If u r into riding long distance then the tb 350 but it has no abs on the other hand avenger has got abs single channel both the bikes got same power but tb350 has tubetire,350x has tubeless and avenger tube tire.If your budget is somewhat near 2L then should wait for the tb350 abs or should go for classic signals 350 or 500 abs.TB 350 is a nise looking bulky bike as i own one, but on hard braking the tire gets locked, what i would suggest wait a little more for tb to get abs.

Q. I am planning to buy Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350. What are the major differences between 350 and 500?

Dear Yashwant, I also decided to buy Thunderbird 500. As you said, I can wait until they launch in BS6 version. But, what I heard is \'RE will stopped their 500CC varients of bikes in BS6 version\'. Really is that true? Because I would like to buy 500 not 350 or 650. So could you say anything up to this?

There is no cosmetic difference between 500 and 350 the difference you feel is all about the milage and power but if you wait for a while Thunderbird is going to come in bs6 version and with abs so you will have more value for money. please wait for a month in October it's going to come.

My opinion is don’t buy RE bikes . Nowadays RE is making only profit out the ppl money and there isn’t any improvement on the vibrations and better pick up. It’s gonna cost more and more on servicing and spares . Look for something Jawa or similar one . But No RE . My experience.They jus wanna manufacture in mass quantities and not a better bikes .

Q. I am confused in buying a new bike for my daily commute from home to work of 70 km. I have shortlisted KTM Duke 250, Royal Enfield Thunderbird and Bajaj Dominar. Please give your suggestions.

You need for daily commute and thunderbird in traffic is little difficult to tackle and being a biker we have no wait policy and we have to zip through the traffic for which thunderbird is not good.Check ktm or dominar which is more comfortable, dominar will give you little better average and more comfortable Moreover RE needs maintenance and you don’t wish to waste your weekly off in a service centre

Thunderbird 350 will give you a mileage 35km/lit. And it will give you the best riding position because of its unique seat design(considering 70 km distance ). Build quality of Bajaj is inferior to RE.So undoubtedly go for RE THUNDERBIRD 350. You will fill like a king.
