The next-generation KTM 790 Adventure has been spotted testing, revealing a comprehensive redesign that points towards a leaner and more modern adventure motorcycle. Spy shots confirm a significant visual overhaul, with a new headlight assembly and slimmer bodywork being the most prominent changes.
The most noticeable update is a completely new front-end. Spy images clearly show a single projector headlight unit with integrated LED DRLs. This is a major departure from the previous generation's design. The new setup modernises the bike's face and is expected to offer better illumination for night-time touring, a key requirement for an adventure bike.

The test mule reveals a significant reduction in visual bulk compared to the current 790 Adventure. KTM appears to have focused on creating a sportier and more athletic stance. The fuel tank has been completely redesigned, flowing into new, sharper body panels. A tall windscreen is also visible, intended to reduce wind buffeting at higher speeds. Another key ergonomic change is the shift to a long single-piece seat, replacing the split-seat design of the outgoing model.
Powering the updated adventure bike is likely the same 799cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine found in the new KTM 790 Duke. This unit produces 95PS and 87Nm. The engine will likely be paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a bidirectional quickshifter. Major upgrades appear on the chassis, with the test bike equipped with WP Apex suspension at both ends. The braking hardware is also new, with WP-branded callipers visible. The motorcycle was spotted running a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination, underscoring its off-road focus.

The next-gen 790 Adventure is expected to carry over the 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. This allows for features like turn-by-turn navigation, multiple ride modes, cruise control, and a suite of safety aids. These could include lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS, complete with a dedicated off-road mode that allows for more rider control on loose surfaces.
While the KTM 790 Adventure isn't currently on sale in India, KTM does offer the bigger 890 Adventure R for riders looking for a middleweight ADV. That said, the next-generation 790 Adventure's sharper styling, slimmer bodywork and updated hardware make it an attractive proposition, especially if KTM positions it competitively in global markets. With Bajaj now steering KTM’s ship worldwide, there's a glimmer of hope that this new 790 Adventure could eventually make its way to our shores, giving Indian adventure enthusiasts another capable twin-cylinder option.
