The facelifted Hyundai Venue has been spotted testing in its lower-spec guise ahead of its expected launch on June 16. This will be the first major update for Hyundai’s sub-4 metre SUV, and the changes are expected to be cosmetic and features related. Moreover, select dealerships have already commenced offline bookings.
So how do we say that this is the lower-spec Hyundai Venue? The wheels are the first giveaway as they roll on steel rims instead of alloys. Other expected downgrades include split headlights and lack of chrome touches.

The interior of the facelifted Venue is yet to be snapped. That said, the top-spec trim is expected to pack ventilated front seats, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose sound system, and digitized driver’s display (a la i20). Features like automatic climate control, cruise control, sunroof, keyless entry, and six airbags will be retained.
Underneath the hood, the Venue should carry forward the existing 83PS 1.2-litre petrol, 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol, and 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine options. It will be available with the existing manual, clutchless manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions depending on the engine. Plus, Hyundai could plonk in the 115PS diesel engine teamed with a 6-speed automatic.

The facelifted Hyundai Venue is expected to be priced from around Rs 7.2 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Nissan Magnite, and the like.
