Skoda has been very proactive about the Kodiaq, as evinced by the SUV being teased on multiple media events and the recently held Tour de France. It has now been learned that the Kodiaq will make its official unveil on September 1 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. We have also received confirmation that the Czech manufacturer will be bringing the much-awaited SUV to India by the end of 2017.

Based on Skoda’s Vision S concept, the Kodiaq will share styling cues with the luxurious Superb sedan. As mentioned above, the SUV had featured in the Tour de France with camouflage as a part of Skoda’s promotional strategy before its unveil.

Speaking about the SUV, the Kodiaq is a full-fledged seven-seater vehicle with large overhangs. Featuring foldable third-row seats, the Czech manufacturer claims the Kodiaq will offer class-leading rear luggage space.

Under the hood, the Kodiaq will receive different powertrain options (three petrol and two diesel) that are currently used in other Skoda vehicles. The SUV will come with an option of a six-speed manual or a DSG transmission, with power being transmitted to the front wheels as standard.

When launched in India, Skoda is expected to set the price of the Kodiaq between Rs 23 lakh and Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom.
