Do Not Miss It!: Our comprehensive First Drive Review of the 2018 Maruti Swift

UPDATE: Everything you need to know about the 2018 Maruti Swift
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift has been spied in European outback. The car wears some heavy camouflage to hide its next-generation design, which was accidentally revealed a few weeks ago. The next-gen Swift is expected to be officially unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show this October.
The Swift will witness its third generation change in the country with the last one dating to August 2011. But, with this one the manufacturer has taken up more of an evolutionary approach rather than building something from the scratch. The next-gen Swift will share a lot of semblance to the current car and should even share a lot of parts when it comes to the underpinnings. Juxtaposed to changes of the first generation Swift which were starkly opposed to the second generation Swift.
It will also feature a new set of interiors with all the gadgetry that the current generation of the car misses out on. A few could be named as an all new SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. A new multifunction steering wheel, circular AC vents, a new dashboard layout, while features like automatic climate control could be borrowed from the current generation.

Speaking of the power sources, the 2017 Swift might get two petrol engine option along with one diesel mill. The petrol side could get the familiar 1.2-litre K-series motor alongside the all new 1.0-litre BoosterJet motor that will be introduced in the Baleno RS by the end of the year. The diesel, but of course, could be the 1.3-litre fiat sourced multijet unit, until Maruti is done developing its all-new diesel motor.
Another remarkable change is expected to be in terms of the weight reduction of the upcoming Swift. The car could undercut the Baleno, which is a benchmark for weight in its category. The Swift can employ lighter substance in the chassis construction, making it lighter as well as stronger.
