Although Mahindra is very tight lipped about the New Scorpio, the car has generated enough buzz in the automotive world and among SUV enthusiasts of India. The company has termed the New Scorpio as the Next Generation Scorpio and so we can expect it to get a refreshed design among other changes. With these upgrades the Mahindra SUV will take on the likes of Renault Duster and Tata Safari Storme and hopes to regain the market share.
The official website of the New Scorpio has a count-down clock ticking away, with just a few hours remaining for the unveiling of the new SUV in India. The New Mahindra Scorpio will be replacing the existing model which is showing its age now. The outgoing model comes powered with two diesel engines, namely the 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder m2DiCr motor and the 2.2-litre mHawk engine, and is priced between Rs 8.21 to 12.29 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). We expect the New Scorpio to feature a range of new equipments and might also get a marginal hike in price.
