  • Mahindra Scorpio Classic to come in two trims: S3+ and S11.
  • It will launch alongside the Scorpio N.
  • It gets reprofiled bumpers, dual-tone alloys, and a new grille design.
  • No major changes are expected on the inside or its feature list.
  • Will be offered with the Thar’s 130PS 2.2-litre diesel engine, paired with a 6-speed MT.

The Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be offered in two trims: S3+ and S11. The S5, S7, and S9 variants will be discontinued to make room for the new Scorpio N. When it comes to seating options, it will be available either as a seven seater or a nine seater.

Currently, the Scorpio is offered with the older 2.2-litre diesel engine in two states of tune: 120PS with 5-speed manual and 140PS with 6-speed manual. The Classic will get Mahindra's latest 130PS 2.2-litre all-aluminium diesel engine, paired with a 6-speed MT. It will not get four-wheel drive and automatic transmission.

The latest spy shots show us its alloys, which are similarly styled to the current one, albeit with dual-tone finishing. Apart from that, the SUV will get redesigned bumpers at either ends and Mahindra’s latest grille mimicking the Scorpio N. And obviously, it will get Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo to make its presence felt as well.

The pictures also offer a sneak peek into the cabin, and by the looks of it, it doesn’t get any design changes. And we don’t expect much changes to the features list, which includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, a multi-info display, cornering lamps, and keyless entry.

Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

The Scorpio Classic is expected to go on sale soon after the Scorpio N’s launch, which is slated for June 27. It will have a starting price lower than its more premium sibling and is expected to start at Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). This SUV will appeal to those who want the traits of a Scorpio without stretching up to the Scorpio N’s pricing.
