SUVs were closely followed by MPVs at this year’s expo
All The MPVs That Put Up A Show At Auto Expo 2020 highlights

We were expecting a wide range of SUVs to be showcased at the 15th edition of the auto expo. What we did not see coming was the inflow of MPVs from different carmakers right from the under 10 lakh price bracket to ones breaching the 1-crore mark. So, here’s a compilation of all the MPVs that were showcased at Auto Expo 2020:

Mercedes-Benz V-Class

Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off the V-Class Marco Polo campervan with prices starting at Rs 1.38 crore (ex-showroom) for the Marco Polo Horizon variant. It is also available in a Marco Polo variant priced at Rs 1.46 lakh. What makes this special is its fully furnished cabin featuring a roof-mounted tent, a bedroom, and a kitchen. Yes, you read that right. More details this way.

Kia Carnival

Kia launched the Carnival luxury MPV in India at prices ranging from Rs 24.95 lakh to Rs 33.95 lakh. There are three variants on offer: Prestige, Premium and Limousine in 7/8/9 seater options. Sitting above the omnipresent Innova Crysta, Kia aims to plug the gap between the Toyota and premium MPVs like the V-Class.

Renault Triber AMT

Renault did not launch the Triber AMT, but instead showcased the MPV at the expo. The biggest news is the Easy-R AMT that is borrowed from the Kwid’s 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Other changes include different alloy wheels, roof rails, and dual-tone interiors. Renault has also showcased the 1.0-litre TCe turbo engine, which will make its way into the Triber soon.

MG 360M

Known as the Baojun 360 in markets abroad, the 360M will likely be aimed squarely at the Ertiga and the XL6, if launched. Under the hood is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops 103PS and 135Nm of torque. Some features highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, second row captain seats, and electric sunroof.

MG G10

Yes, MG again, but this time around it was a surprise. Out of the blue, MG unveiled the G10 MPV, which we believe is aimed at the Kia Carnival. Markets abroad get a 2.0-litre petrol and a 1.9-litre diesel engine. In true MG fashion, it gets a plethora of features and connected car tech. We expect it to be priced aggressively around the Rs 20-lakh mark.

MG Vision-I

We know what you’re thinking and yes, you’re right. MG brought three MPVs to Auto Expo 2020. This Vision-I concept gives us a glimpse into the carmaker’s future. When it was first unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show, it was called the Roewe Vision-i. Highlights include sliding doors and an extremely roomy cabin without any sort of screens.

Haima 7X

This is Haima’s answer to the Toyota Innova Crysta, the 7X MPV. But unfortunately, it borrows plenty of styling cues from Mercedes, Audi, and BMW cars! It is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 195PS of power. We know nothing about the exact launch timeline as the carmaker is yet to set foot in India.
