While the Countryman is all set to receive an update soon, Mini India has launched the Mini Countryman Black Edition in the country. Limited to just 24 units, the Black Edition is based on the Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired variant and comes with a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the Inspired. What you get for this premium are various cosmetic bits, all finished in black, staying true to its name. Mini has priced the Countryman Black Edition at Rs 42.40 Lakh (ex-showroom India). Below is a detailed price list of the Mini Countryman lineup in India:

Cooper S Cooper Sd Cooper S JCW Black Edition
Price (ex-showroom) Rs 34.90 lakh Rs 37.40 lakh Rs 41.40 lakh Rs 42.40 lakh

The main differentiating bits include a new black grille, JCW carbon fibre mirror caps, piano black headlight and tail lamp inserts, piano black Countryman moniker, black roof rails, and black bonnet stripes. In comparison to the Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired, the Black Edition follows a stealth theme with the colour black used generously.

Being based on the JCW Inspired variant, it also gets all the bells and whistles from it. Some of these include 18-inch JCW wheels, JCW aero kit, automatic tailgate access, JCW steering wheel and interior trim, electric sports seats, Mini wired package, heads-up display, panoramic glass roof and sound system by Harman and Kardon.

Mechanically the Black Edition remains identical to the JCW Inspired. It gets the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that sends 192PS and a healthy 280 Nm of twist to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Naught to 100kmph comes up in 7.5 seconds while the car also gets driving modes and cruise control.
