MINI Countryman rolls out of Chennai plant

In April we informed you about BMW’s plans of starting with the localized production of its Countryman model at the 40 acre BMW Plant in Chennai. The good news from the MINI camp is that work seems to be very much on schedule and in just over a month since making the announcement the German car maker has just rolled out its first locally assembled MINI Countryman model.

The cheaper MINI One Countryman petrol model will sell for Rs 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The other petrol variants of the MINI Countryman - MINI Cooper S Countryman and MINI Cooper S Countryman High will continue to be imported in India as Completely Built-up Units (CBU) along with all of MINI’s other hatchback (Cooper) models.
