Mercedes-Benz India has been on a roll recently will a new launch every month. With their GLA-Class compact SUV finally available to the SUV crazy Indian audiences, Mercedes is now going a step further by announcing the launch of the AMG version of the same. The Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG will be launched on October 27 and should be priced around the Rs 80 lakh mark.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG features more aggressive styling as compared to its normal versions. With deeper bumpers and larger air intakes combined with a grey chin spoiler, the GLA45 AMG might be small in proportion but does look the part of a serious performance SUV. Around the back, the GLA45 AMG features a set of typical AMG quad exhausts and an inbuilt diffuser. The large wheels complete the overall look and stance of the car.
On the engines front, the GLA45 AMG features a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that makes 360PS of peak power. Not only is this the most powerful engine in the world when one compared litre-to-power outputs, it is also one of the most fun to drive, as we recently found out in our review. The GLA45 AMG also comes with all-wheel-drive that helps all that power reach tarmac and comes with three driving modes that help transform the car from a docile everyday SUV to a fire breathing monster.
The GLA45 AMG joins the recently launched CLA45 AMG, which also runs on identical underpinnings. Mercedes-Benz India will also launch the A45 AMG in the near future therby almost completing the AMG line in India. Also expect a more powerful and all-wheel-drive equipped diesel version of the GLA-Class soon.
