The Maruti Suzuki Ignis Facelift Looks Ready For Launch In India

The facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ignis has been spotted undisguised in India. It could most likely debut at Auto Expo 2020. The facelifted Ignis features a cosmetic nip and tuck and could come with a BS6-compliant engine. Let’s read more about the upcoming model, shall we? 

Styling updates in the 2020 Ignis include a new grille which takes inspiration from the S-Presso and rugged front and rear bumpers with skid plates. The headlamps, silhouette, alloy wheels and even the tail lamps look similar to the existing model.  

Inside, the Ignis facelift could feature subtle updates like new upholstery and a different colour scheme. It could also come with Maruti’s updated 7.0-inch Smartplay Studio infotainment system.  

Expected features in the updated Ignis include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, steering mounted audio control, a multi-info display as well as keyless entry with push button start. Expected safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a high-speed alert as well as driver and co-driver seat-belt warning.  

Under the hood, the 2020 Ignis could be powered by Maruti’s BS6-compliant 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine. It develops 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque. We expect the Ignis facelift to be offered with both manual and AMT options. 

The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift is expected to be a tad more expensive than the current model’s starting price of Rs 4.74 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the Ignis facelift will rival the Ford Figo, Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
