Mahindra felicitates winners of the Mahindra Monsoon Challenge 2011

Mayday.Mayday. This is what you would have to say while in the Mahindra Monsoon Challenge 2011. A gruelling 1500 kilometers with three days at hand, this challenge was surely a task. One of the biggest time-speed-distance rallies, the event had Rs. 5 lakhs as first prize.

Chandra Somdev and Niraw Mehta bagged the first prize with S.Maruthi Karthik and Shankaranand finishing second with a prize money of Rs. 3 lakhs. And the last position was taken by Ganesh Moorthy and T Nagarajan in which the duo got Rs. 1 lakh. In other categories, Mrs. Sampada Rangnekar was accredited as the ‘Best Woman Driver’. Bobby Roy and Pawan Dagia were give the ‘Best Phptograph’ awards . As for participants from the media category, a special prize money of Rs. 1 lakh was given to Harmon Raj Maddon and Amanjot Chaudhari.

Held for the first time under the Mahindra Adventure Group, the Mahindra Monsson Challenge is a part of a combination of motorsport events that have seen growth with the Indian drivers and enthusiasts. The route consisted of dirt roads of Aurangabad, Kohlapur and finishing at Goa.
