Remember the Kymco X-Town 300i ABS that almost debuted in India in 2019? Well, the maxi-scooter has eluded our market so far, but Europe has just got the Euro5-compliant version. The Taiwanese company has not only made it greener but also given it a bit of a nip-and-tuck. Accompanying the 300cc scooter is the smallest of the X-Town lineup, the CT 125.
The Kymco X-Town 300i ABS now features a completely new design. Everything from the quad LED headlight with DRL to the integrated turn indicators and the body panels have been given aggressive styling, which gives the scooter a more youthful appearance.
The changes are not just skin-deep though. The Kymco X-Town 300i ABS packs a new steel tubular frame that houses a 276cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, belting out 23.2PS at 7,500rpm and 22.44Nm at 6,500rpm.
Kymco has even updated the suspension setup of the X-Town 300i. The maxi-scooter now comes with new twin shock absorbers at the rear with preload adjustability. At the front, the X-Town continues with the same telescopic fork. Braking is taken care of by disc brakes at both ends. The Kymco X-Town 300i rides on beefy 13-inch wheels at both ends.
The smaller 125 shares its design and hardware with its bigger sibling. It is powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder engine, making 15PS at 9,000rpm and 11.6Nm at 7,000rpm. It even gets the same 10.5-litre fuel tank as the X-Town CT 300i. However, unlike the ABS-equipped CT 300i, the CT 125 comes with a combined braking system.
On the feature front, both the maxi-scooters come equipped with a USB charging port, ample storage space, and a simple analogue console with a central LCD unit.
The Kymco X-Town CT 300i has been priced at EUR 4,399 or Rs 3.86 lakh while the X-Town CT 125 carries a tag of EUR 4,099 or Rs 3.63 lakh. We don’t think these maxi-scooters will make it to India, so for now, our best bet is to wait for the Honda Forza 350.
