After debuting in concept form at the Auto Expo 2020, Kia recently took the wraps off the production-spec Seltos X-Line ahead of its slated launch in September, 2021. While it may not be as butch as the concept, the X-Line does get its own identity over the GTX Plus trim it’s based on. Here are the differences between the two trims in detailed images:

The most noticeable difference in the Seltos X-Line is the new Matte Graphite shade which adds a bit of stealth to the SUV. This is the first time a matte shade is offered for a car straight from the factory in India,  and the aforementioned shade is exclusive to the X-Line.

Head inside, and the differences between the X-Line and GT Plus are harder to spot. The X-Line’s leatherette seats and door pads get a shade of Indigo, with the former also featuring a honeycomb pattern. In contrast, the GTX Plus can be had in an all-black or a black/beige theme.

Since the X-Line is based on the GTX Plus, it's no surprise that its equipment list is largely the same. It features a Bose sound system, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, connected car tech, a single-pane sunroof, and ventilated front seats. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera are some of the safety features on offer.

Both the X-Line and GT Plus get the same powertrain options which include a 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine and the 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, the X-Line will not get the GTX Plus turbo-petrol’s  manual gearbox, and  will instead be paired with a 7-speed DCT  for the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and 6-speed AT for the 1.5-litre diesel.
