The Jaguar E-Type sports car has been quite the icon in the automotive industry ever since its debut in 1961. It was well known for combining high performance, a beautiful design, and competitive pricing to make it a legend for Jaguar. Well heading into 2021, Jaguar has unveiled a limited-run F-Type Heritage 60 Edition that celebrates 60 years of the iconic E-Type. Based on the F-Type R, we can say this special edition F-type certainly scores high in nostalgia.

Starting from the exteriors, the F-Type Heritage 60 Edition is shod in gorgeous Sherwood Green paintwork, in a hark back to the original E-Type. Rounding off the exterior upgrades are the ‘diamond turned’ 20-inch alloy wheels. It is offered in either coupe or convertible body style.

Heading inside, you’re treated to a two-tone cabin draped in Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather and an aluminium console finish that’s reminiscent of the E-Type’s outer rearview mirror casing. Besides, you get  E-type 60th anniversary logos on the headrests.

Under the hood, the F-Type Heritage 60 Edition borrows the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine from the F-Type R. It pushes out 575PS of grunt and 700Nm of twist, with power distributed to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All this gives it a 0-96kmph time of 3.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 300kmph.

Exclusivity is the name of the game as only 60 units of the F-Type Heritage 60 Edition will be produced with each model being hand made. The model, priced at GBP 122,500 (Rs 1.21 crore), is available for pre-order now. Jaguar’s press release clearly states this model will be offered worldwide which means a few lucky chaps from India could own one as well. Expect this limited edition to command a premium over the F-Type R, the model it’s based on, priced at Rs 2.27 crore (coupe) and Rs 2.41 crore (convertible).
